When our oldest (now 7!) was just two years old, I began researching home preschool curriculum. I wanted to explore homeschooling before we had to officially declare ourselves “homeschoolers” or send him off to our neighborhood school.
As a former teacher, I had a lot of requirements for a program. I knew it was going to be difficult to find one that ticked all my boxes, but I didn’t realize it would be impossible.
I was looking for a program that taught new topics, organized around fun themes, through picture books & play.
Affordability was also a big concern for me. I didn’t want to spend a lot on a curriculum and then spend a lot of time and additional money to implement it. I found a few subscription box programs that had much of what I was searching for, but they would be at least $100 a month to implement with just one kid! That wasn’t going to work for our budget! I’ve taught preschool and know that working on important skills with them can be very affordable.
And so, I created the ThreeSchool program!
What is ThreeSchool?
ThreeSchool is a home preschool curriculum that is picture book based, focused on play, and organized around monthly themes.
In this engaging home preschool program, you’ll work alongside your child each day, exposing them to new ideas and activities that will be enjoyable and just-right for their age and attention span!
- Morning Meeting: You’ll check in, greet the day, and introduce new skills!
- Free Play: Kids will engage in focused play with items you’ve curated.
- One-On-One: You’ll briefly work on a new skill together with a fun activity.
- Story Time: You’ll follow the provided guide for a dialogic reading of a picture book.
- Music & Movement: You’ll sing and dance to songs from our included playlists.
- Discovering My World: You’ll explore a social studies or science topic.
In the original ThreeSchool program, you’ll find a new theme each month with focused, age-appropriate skills. Explore the themes and learning topics for each month in the scope and sequence document below!
Positive Reviews from Moms, Teachers, and Daycare Providers
I’ve now used this home preschool curriculum with all three of my children, and so have many other families! Here are some things that moms, teachers, and daycare providers have said about our programs:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I use this curriculum at home with my 3-year-old son and he loves it! The materials are very well organized and have made it easy for me to prepare for each day’s activities ahead of time. All of the books required are available in my local library system, so I have had ready access to them. I can’t wait to see the curriculum for the remainder of the year!

We have had so much fun as a family implementing these units and exploring the world through play and picture books. ThreeSchool is the answer to the question “What should I do with my toddler all day?” You can get your copy on your preferred platform here: Purchase on Teachers Pay Teachers or Purchase on Etsy!
FAQs about ThreeSchool Home Preschool Curriculum:
How will I access the program?
You’ll get a direct download of this program that you can print from home or send to a print shop or office supply store for printing. The program is separated into months. Each month will be downloaded separately. Depending on the platform where you purchase (Etsy or TPT) will depend on how you access the program, but you have lifetime access and can use again with all the children in your family, daycare, or classroom. One time purchase, lifetime use!
Can I use this with my four year old? What about with multiple kids?
Absolutely! Many activities come with ideas for making activities more simple or more challenging. I truly want this to work for all families, with kids at all levels. This curriculum has been successfully implemented in daycare and preschool settings with multiple kids. I’ve also used activities for all three of my children together!
What work will I have to do ahead of time?
I wrote this curriculum the same way I like to teach: one week at a time! Since this curriculum is almost entirely printable, MOST of the work is done for you. You just need to print, and sometimes, cut it out. You may wish to laminate some activities if you want to use them again and again (and I think you will!) At the beginning of each month or each week, you will want to gather books and supplies. I have included very easy-to-reference lists for these purposes in each month’s teacher guides.
What’s NOT included?
I have worked very hard to make this curriculum as printable as possible! That means that if a lesson calls for a particular type of physical manipulative, I have also included a printable version that will “do just fine.” Since I’m a teaching-supply-hoarder, I also have a lot of the real, physical items that I like to use, and I will give recommendations for the ones I think are the best, in case you’re in the mood to do a little shopping. The other supplies needed are almost always basic craft and household supplies that you will either already have or be able to obtain easily and affordably. Don’t forget, this program should work well for your family. Please substitute activities and supplies as needed! The other resource that is NOT included in this curriculum are the books for daily read-alouds. Check out more information about those below.
So, what about the books, then?
The most important “non-included” resources for this curriculum are the picture books. You can access the books in a variety of ways. Your local library will have many of the books. You can purchase them used through websites like Thrift Books, and you can also search YouTube for videos of teachers reading many of the books included in the curriculum.
