They thought homeschooling was lame. We’re proving them wrong, one adventure at a time!
Hi, friends! I’m Kaitlyn, a former teacher and current homeschool mom of three. I longed to give my kids a different experience than the one I encountered in public education. And I want to help you do the same!
You’ve landed in the right place if you’re a homeschool mom who:
- Has seen what traditional schooling has to offer and you’ve said “No, thanks”.
- Wants to create engaging experiences for your children that immerse them in learning while they play and explore new topics.
- Knows that a slower pace, more time spent as a family, and adventures together are top priorities for your family.
You’re not alone!
Our Story
When our oldest son was born in 2015, I knew we’d spend our days learning together by exploring his interests. This has led us, 9 years later, to homeschooling with a unit study approach. Unit studies can be intimidating, so I love walking new friends through how we make them work for our family.
When our middle daughter came along in 2018, going places with a 1:2 ratio felt overwhelming and impossible. But once I figured out what worked, when we added a third kiddo in 2020, she fit in seamlessly! I love sharing the easy ways we organize ourselves to make our weekly adventure days a breeze! Each weekly homeschool field trip is a chance to broaden our horizons, immerse ourselves in the subjects we’re learning, and explore our beautiful state of South Carolina together.
Speaking of SC, it’s the place where my husband, Andrew, and I were born, raised, and are now raising our family. Together we love drinking coffee (yes, even the kids!) and tent camping in new places. As the “cruise director” of our family, I’m always looking for new adventures and dragging everyone else along. We’d love for you to tag along, too!
Whether it’s spending intentional outdoor time together, exploring homeschooling through unit studies, or taking kids tent camping, there’s always something exciting that we have to share. Speaking of sharing, I love sharing my free unit study ideas with other homeschool families. You can find them in my TPT store! I post here weekly, but for more daily happenings, memes, and fun videos, please come say “hi” on Instagram!
I am so glad you’re here!
